Trina Making Moves With Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group

Trina announces her departure from her old label and reveals new album in progress.

Trina made her way to MTV’s RapFix show and announced that she was no longer signed to Slip-N-Slide Records.

She also revealed that she is currently working on her sixth album with the help of fellow Miamian Rick Ross. Many now question a possible signing with Rozay’s Maybach Music Group.

DMX Turned Mr. Clean

Once again DMX gives a helping hand to the community in smaller ways than anyone might think.

A video from TMZ was released yesterday that depicts DMX cleaning at a club. His first stop was at nightclub in South Carolina where he just started vacuuming!

When asked what he was doing he explained: “Broom, vacuum, mop, whatever … it’s a rewarding experience. What can I say? I like clean sh*t, and the supplies were available.”

Sony Chief Executive Looking Has His Eyes Set On Cash Money

Doug Morris, Sony’s chief executive of Music Entertainment, wants to get Cash Money label on board with Sony.

My plan here is very simple,” Doug Morris told the New York Times. “To help create the pre-eminent record company in the world.”

Things are changing quickly at Sony. After months of talks, Morris signed Dr. Luke, who has produced pop hits for Katy Perry and Kesha. By creating what is now Kemosabe Records in collaboration with Dr. Luke, Sony gets exclusive rights to Dr. Luke’s production for the next five years.

will.I.am Confirms Fergie’s Status With Black Eyed Peas

will.I.am has once again replied to the ongoing rumors of Fergie having split from the Black Eyed Peas.

Rumors began earlier this week, when an unconfirmed report claimed that former Murder Inc. artist Ashanti would replace Fergie in the Black Eyes Peas.

will.I.am shot down the reports on Twitter.

Nicki Minaj hit the town attending Versace For H&M’s collection launch in New York City.

Posing with Donatella Versace, Nicki was seeing green as she sported one of her trademark colored wigs with a palm leaf in her hair and rocked a vibrant and colorful tropical outfit.

MTV2 is bringing Weezy and Birdman to host the first ever “Sucker Free Awards”

Miami DJ’s Irie and DJ Khaled, as well as DJ Envy will serve as guest commentators during the special show, which will be hosted by Sway Calloway.

The “Sucker Free Awards will examines the biggest moments and trends in hip-hop for 2011.

During the “Sucker Free Awards,” Birdman will debut his new song “Why U Mad,” from his upcoming album  Bigga Than Life.

Heavy D Passes Away at Age 44

The Music world lost another Rap Legend Yesterday!

Heavy D was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon yesterday and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM. He was 44 years old.
