Didn’t think so. I’m sick and tired of pathetic fans and many black folks looking to forgive and move on when it comes to abuse. What is it with black folks and abuse? How many times I hear and read about black serial victims who get smacked up, forgive, go back for some more and then end up another NY Post story. I’m not sure who to detest more, the abuser or the victim. This isn’t racist - just the truth. Blacks out of any ethnicity have the highest rates of domestic abuse (more than the Irish) in America. Half the reason is its acceptance and the victim’s moronic decisions to “let it pass”. Over generations it becomes deplorable but perversely accepted behavior (in that people live with it instead of fight against it). If Al Sharpton really wanted to save some black folks - start in the home.
People act like it’s just some young passions on fire. The guy smacked the crap out of her and choked her unconscious. What’s a girl have to say to deserve that? “I think you last album sucked!”
But here’s the real deal. Neither will want to risk their careers by airing the truth in trial. Everything is public record. Did Chris find a sex tape that didn’t include him? Is Rihanna really a man? Inquiring minds will will never know. Her dilemma (I really mean handler's), is which choice can be spun most favorably. Go to trial and become the poster child for standing up to abuse - noble but potentially embarassing and hence threaten endorsements. Or drop charges and take the role of Miss Mercy, and play up the power of forgiveness - very Christ like. You boneheaded fans will love you all over because 1) they've never been smacked down like that or 2) they have and it knocked out all sense.
What’s I’d like to see is taking the chump to the slammer. But this is what’ll happen:
She’ll drop charges or not cooperate. He’ll send alot of flowers and jewelry (unless the press isn’t around). She’ll take on the magnanimous (yet pathetic) position of forgiver and he’ll assume the roll of the repentent one. Since their record deals suck and endorsements cancelled, they’ll sign a reality show contract where we get to watch them try to get along. If all goes real well, they’ll make a song about it called “Luvin My Punchin Bag”.
That’s my prediction.

Did anyone see Chris Brown’s bruises? Didn’t think so.
