Gatorade G
Gatorade redesigned the packaging for it’s electrolyte packed hydration drink renaming their drinks such as the Gatorade® Thirst Quencher to ‘Gatorade G’ or just simply ‘G’ to appeal to a broader range of athletes and active people. The drinks which are mostly consumed by athletes will be coming in bolder packaging.

“Just like any good athlete, Gatorade is taking it to the next level,” said Sarah Robb O’Hagan, chief marketing officer for Gatorade. “Whether you’re in it for the win, for the thrill or for better health, if your body is moving, Gatorade sees you as an athlete, and we’re inviting you into the brand.”

Other drinks that have been given a new name include Gatorade Fierce® now Bring It™, Gatorade X-Factor® changes to Be Tough™, Gatorade AM™ now called Shine On™, Gatorade Rain™ becomes No Excuses™, and Gatorade Tiger™ now Focus. The company will also be introducing two new flavors for the year of ‘09 called G2® Lemon-Lime and G2® Strawberry-Kiwi.

As far as for the promotion of the revamped brand, an ad for Gatorade made it’s way online which features tennis player Serena Williams, Muhammad Ali, and a host of other famed athletes which is narrated by rapper Lil Wayne.
