Singer and songwriter Vanessa Carlton is recovering after being bitten by a pitbull dog while jogging in a neighborhood in northeastern Pennsylvania on May 2nd.

Vanessa Carlton, who is a 3-time nominated singer/pianist, known for her 2007 hit single ‘A Thousand Miles,’ won’t be running a thousand miles for anyone anytime soon. On May 2nd, while running in her neighborhood in Pennsylvania, Vanessa was bitten on her calf by a neighbor’s pitbull.

Doctors were monitoring the singer’s leg for any infections but she is expected to make a full recovery. The 9 month old pitbull, whose name is Bella, is currently being put under a 10-day home quarantine as a precaution to see if there is any change in the dog’s behavior in case it has rabies.

Meanwhile, Vanessa and her dad, Ed Carlton, paid a visit to the dog’s owners, Ben and Jo Anne Teichberg, two days after the attack and instructed them to have the dog put down.

“They are branding Bella as a dangerous animal and want her put to death. They said because Bella is a pit bull, it is known to be bad,” the Teichberg’s said.

There were no witnesses to the bite nor has Carlton made a complaint according to the state Dept. of Agriculture.

In other news, Vannessa Cartlon who is signed to The Inc. is working on her fourth studio album “Rabbits On The Run.”

On August 5th, the singer will be performing a free show as a part of the Donate Life Concert Series at the Americana at Brand.
