Melissa Huckaby has changed her ‘not guilty’ plea to ‘guilty’ in the kidnapping and murder of 8 year old Sandra Cantu.
Sunday school teacher, Melissa Huckaby, has plead guilty to the kidnapping, rape and murder of her daughter’s friend, 8 year old Sandra Cantu.
Cantu disapeared from her mobile home park on March 28th after she told family she was going over to a friends home to play. Sandra’s body was found in a suitcase in a ditch on April 7th.
Under her plea agreement, Melissa will be sentenced to a life prison term without the possibility of parole for the murder and kidnapping of 8 year-old Sandra Cantu.
Huckaby, who was arrested April 8th, 2009, had already been undergoing mental evaluation after her theft conviction and her family said she was in depression. Melissa reportedly had tried to commit suicide just days before she was arrested for killing 8 year-old Sandra Cantu.
