It is no secret that the Notorious B.I.G. was going to be a platinum selling artist when he released his first national album ‘Ready To Die’ on September 13th 1994. B.I.G. became a huge success worldwide and was one of the most top selling Hip-Hop artists in the game during his tragically shortened career as an M.C.

Tragically, B.I.G. was assassinated in Los Angeles on March 9th 1997 when a black Impala pulled along side his SUV while stopped at a red light and opened fire. Four bullets ripped through B.I.G.’s chest as the assailant drove off. Members of B.I.G.’s crew rushed him to a nearby hospital but by then it was too late. Biggie was pronounced dead at 1:15 am. 15 days later Bad Boy Records released ‘Life After Death’, Biggie’s 2nd studio album, hitting the #1 spot on the U.S. album charts shortly after.

As we celebrate the life and death of The Notorious B.I.G., take into consideration that this man is a legend and his legacy will live forever. It’s been 13 years since Biggie’s death but his spirit remains with us through his music.
