Hit Pop and Hip Hop music group Black Eyed Peas is holding on to the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 spot for their 20th consecutive week and has made Hot 100 history. Black Eyed Peas’ single “I Gotta Feeling” has been holding on to the top spot for 8 weeks and follows behind “Boom Boom Pow” which previously held the top spot for 12 weeks.

Being on the charts this long has given the dynamic music group the longest successive stay for a duo or group in chart history. The Black Eyed Peas have surpassed music group Boyz II Men who in the past stayed on the charts twice for 16 weeks for their songs “I’ll Make Love To You” and “On Bended Knee.”

According to will.i.am, the producer and hit-maker states he knew that ‘Boom Boom Pow’ would be big in the clubs, but what he didn’t expect for it to do was get as big outside of the club.

Meanwhile, the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” have sold more than 3.8 million and 2.1 million digital downloads and more than 900,000 copies of their album “The E.N.D.” since it’s release in June 2009.
