Ja Rule is currently serving two years for a gun possession charge, but he admits that so far the time he’s spent behind bars has not been as bad as he expected.
In an interview with New York Daily News, Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, said that he’s made some very unique friends including former state controller Alan Hevesi and former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski.
He also added that prison is “amazing” for hosting these types of individuals.
“Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,” he said. “Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here… But they’re both great, smart guys.
“It’s funny,” he added. “We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.”
We all recall that Ja Rule’s music career was cut short after getting into a lyrical and physical battle with 50 Cent and Eminem. After checking out this recent interview many people may think he has gotten softer for hanging out with Hevesi or Kozlowski, but perhaps he has just matured and gotten wiser.
