Daylight Saving: Time To Spring Forward and Turn Your Clocks Ahead

Wake up!!!, and move your clocks forward, yes it’s ‘fall back and spring forward.’ It’s that time of the year again when we move our clocks around and get used to the new time of the day.

According to NASA, daylight savings began at 2:00am today (Sunday, March 13, 2011).

It’s time to move our clocks forward one hour in anticipation of warmer, spring days this Spring 2011, which hasn’t quite decided yet what type of weather it will produce steadily.

Creve Coeur Patch offers a nice story with a few tips and pointers about the health risks associated with the time change. One of the tips was to help prepare for the hour’s loss of sleep.

Creve Coeur Patch tells us to try and prepare about a week ahead of time and shoot for at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Clocks are usually moved forward one hour in the beginning of spring and one hour back in the fall.

The reason for this is primarily to conserve energy, but also allows the afternoon more sunlight. So, don’t forget to move your clocks forward and replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.
