It seems that Bishop Eddie Long, who has been accused of sexual misconduct with some of his teen church followers, was quite the upstanding community leader on the surface as the preacher reportedly had a pretty impressive academy program which taught teen recruitees about sexual control/abstinence, health and fitness, how to be financially responsible and requires them to hold a job for about three months.
The Bishop Eddie Long is being sued by four alleged victims who are now in their twenties, and claim the pastor enticed them into having sex by using lavish gifts such as cars, luxury hotel stays, jewelry and more. That’s one side of the story, but as always, there are two sides.
Under the name of LongFellows Youth Academy, Bishop Eddie Long founded an academy that taught teens, such as the alleged victims, about interest rates, Social Security and sexual control and went as far as to have the teens carry a “Sex Self-Check Card” which listed three things the teens could be do rather than have sex, along with one of their favorite bible verses.
This “rite of passage” as it is being referred to, was taught to students for $500 dollars for four months.
As reported on www.HipHopRx.com, Bishop Eddie Long said in a statement that he can’t wait to respond against these allegations which he has been quiet about as instructed by his attorney. The preacher is expected to address the allegations for the first time on Sunday in front of his church congregation at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in suburban Atlanta.
