Aretha Franklin’s Son Brutally Attacked; Makes Statement, Says It Was Three Men
The son of legendary music icon Aretha Franklin, Eddie Franklin, was admitted to the hospital after brutally being attacked at a gas station in Detroit on Monday night, as reported earlier on HipHopRx.com. Eddie Franklin who is believed to be in his 50′s had to undergo emergency surgery after the attack.
Two men and one young woman are believed to have been responsible for the attack which took place at the corner of Plymouth and Evergreen in northern Detroit, MI.
A woman reported to have been with Franklin is stated to have dropped him off at the hospital, however newer reports state that it was a gas station employee that found him and dropped him off.
When authorities arrived at the hospital to speak with Franklin he reportedly left on his own. A hospital spokeswoman confirmed with authorities that someone was treated by that name, but would not reveal any more details relating to Eddie Franklin.
On Wednesday, Eddie Franklin who is also a singer, made a statement that it was three men that attacked him on Monday night.
Meanwhile, an investigation is currently underway according to authorities at the Detroit Police Department.
In 2002, Edddie Franklin was considered a suspect related to the arson fire at his mother home, but Franklin was never changed.
In other news, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is working on her biopic where she is looking to bring on-board Halle Berry for the lead role and Denzel Washington to act as her father. The singer is reportedly handing picking the cast.
