As reported on www.HipHopRX.com, Mo’ Nique’s brother Gerald Imes publicly admitted and apologized for molesting her when she was 7 and he was 13 in the hopes of developing a new relationship with his sister but Mo’Nique isn’t falling for it.
Mo’Nique’s brother Geralds Imes recently appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show to talk about how he molested the ‘Precious’ star when she was only seven years old.
Mo’Nique allegedly doesn’t feel that he is sincere about what he did and that he still hasn’t said exactly what he did.
A source close to Mo’Nique claims: “Mo’Nique was particularly upset that Gerald lied to Oprah that he molested her while she was sleeping because she was wide awake and scared of him. Also, she is angry that he did not get any help or enter a rehab and she does not trust him around children,” adding, “Oprah asked her to appear on her show again for another interview but at this point she has declined the invitation. If anything it has made the situation worse between Mo’Nique and her family and she doesn’t know if she will ever speak to them again now.”
Imes seems to want some kind of forgiveness from his sister but some people think the only reason he apologized is to get on Mo’ Nique’s good side because she won an Oscar.
Mo’Nique confessed that her brother molested her on The View to Barbra Walters. Shortly after the interview, apparently Imes called in to see about doing an interview to tell his side of the story but Walters declined because allegedly she thought he wanted to repair his relationship with her for financial reasons.
