Will the world end in 2012? Well let’s break down 5 possible reasons why 2012 will not be the end of the World as we know it. Hold on to your seats as you’re taken through a scientific journey into 2012.
Remember the Y2K scare? Everyone and their momma’s were bracing for a worldwide computer crash that could’ve set off nuclear missiles, ending life on earth, but nothing happened. Why? Because of adequate planning and analysis of the situation?
NASA scientists have studied Earth long enough to know this. The world will not end on Dec. 21, 2012 despite what the Mayan calendar shows us.
Here’s 5 reasons why:
1. Just like Y2K, 2012 has been analyzed as well and the science of the end of the Earth has been studied thoroughly. So when asked if the Mayan calendar is true, here’s what scientists at NASA have to say:
“Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then, just as your calendar begins again on January 1, another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.”
2. When asked could some kind of phenomena occur where planets align in a way that could impact Earth, Nasa says no, not in the next few decades anyway.
“There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades, Earth will not cross the galactic plane in 2012, and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.”
3. Will Planet X or Eris approach the Earth and threaten our planet with destruction?
“Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax. There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.”
4. When asked if the Earth is in danger of being hit by a meteor in 2012? It is unlikely.
“The Earth has always been subject to impacts by comets and asteroids, although big hits are very rare. The last big impact was 65 million years ago, and that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Today NASA astronomers are carrying out a survey called the Spaceguard Survey to find any large near-Earth asteroids long before they hit. We have already determined that there are no threatening asteroids as large as the one that killed the dinosaurs. All this work is done openly with the discoveries posted every day on the NASA NEO Program Office website, so you can see for yourself that nothing is predicted to hit in 2012.”
5. Is there a danger from giant solar storms predicted for 2012? Uhh uhh.
“Solar activity has a regular cycle, with peaks approximately every 11 years. Near these activity peaks, solar flares can cause some interruption of satellite communications, although engineers are learning how to build electronics that are protected against most solar storms. But there is no special risk associated with 2012. The next solar maximum will occur in the 2012-2014 time frame and is predicted to be an average solar cycle, no different than previous cycles throughout history.

NASA says, “Where is the science? Where is the evidence? There is none, and for all the fictional assertions, whether they are made in books, movies, documentaries or over the Internet, we cannot change that simple fact. There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.”

NASA is governement owned. How much do you trust the US government with vital information? If NASA were to say yes it will be the end then can you imagine the chaos that would cause? The History Channel goes on and on about ‘the end is near’ but then again they’re just a tv channel wanting ratings. So who do you trust? both sources would lie to us without a doubt. I say, take a look at the natural disasters occuring, there have been several already, and in my opinion if they continue to arise with more frequency, along with more war, and disease to plague us then something may be on it’s way to planet earth. Who knows…
You’ll know something is going on, when you wake up one morning to find that all our government representatives mysteriously disappeared for the safety of that underground bunker. Then again; that might just be a good thing. Hopefully the mob will then seal them in there permanently.

Natural disasters have been occurring with similar frequency with lulls and spikes since the beginning. You simply hear about it more because every time one happens it makes the news as opposed to only hearing about disasters near you. So this does not hold.

That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It’s not like NASA wants to see the end of the world. And if something was happening, don’t you think they would do what they can to prevent it? They would need to put so much to work, that it would be hard to keep secret.
Outside of NASA there are hundreds (at least) of stargazers around the world, that are hoping they will discover some new star or planet. Now if they saw something, they would storm to the media and smile. “I discovered ——-”.
Instead focus on what you can do. Treat the environment well and do what you can to prevent global warming. Oh and that’s not something they are covering up. They are literally saying we have to treat the planet well or it will end up hurting us.

The world will end on the day you take your last breath. To be worried about the world ending is laughable. I would be more concerned with crossing a busy intersection then worrying about some ancient calendar. People only worry about death because they are unsure of where they are heading. Think of your death as a birth. You may not remember,but you once lived safely in your mothers womb. You were safe, nourished and comfortable; it was your world. When the time came to leave, you were frightened, because you weren’t sure where you were going. Death is exactly the same. Life is not ended, but merely changed.
It amazes me how so many people actually take this ancient calendar at it’s word, yet choose to ignore the bible; the one book that tells the complete story. If people would actually take the time to read, and “Understand” what the bible is saying; none of this other junk would concern them. If you actually think about the natural disasters thing, its really nothing new, there is a crater in my country from when a Mt blew up and the explosion could be seen by ancient Chinese and Romans, and plague swept through the Roman empire in the 3rd century, war was everywhere, trade collapsed, everyone was on their own, yet it is only because people do not see the big picture that they freak.

That red ball next to the sun(that is not there now)? Venus and Mercury do a transit across the sun, it could easily been one of the two, or Mars. Outside the fact, Nibiru’s orbit is beyond impossible, and if it was as close as they claim, we would be dead already. A planet of that mass would not only upset Earth, but every single planet, it would have turned our Solar System upside down by now. So, it is not real. Period.
Magnetic pole reversals do happen. However, they take 1,000 to 5,000 years to complete. Impossible to happen within seconds. Planetary alignment is rare, and actually, are never truly aligned, and even if so, when they do happen, nothing happens. Galactic alignment does not effect us, nor does traveling in the “Dark Rift”. The Mayan Calendar thing is a misinterpretation, just like our Millenniums, the Mayan long count was theirs. When it flips over, a new one begins.
