A Florida woman has filed a civil suit against former NFL star Michael Irvin alledging that he and another man raped her in a hotel room in 2007.
Dallas Cowboy Hall of Famer and NFL Sports analyst, Michael Irvin, is being accused of raping a Florida woman on July 4th 2007 after the two met at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The woman, who officials have not identified, is accusing Irvin and another man of getting her drunk and having their way with her without her consent.
On Feb. 4th, 2010, the woman filed a civil suit against Irvin in the Broward County, FL. courthouse. Irvin’s lawyer, Larry Friedman, says the accusations are “totally untrue” but the woman wants $1 million before going public with the accusations. Friedman also says that the accusations are attempts of extortion.
No criminal charges have been filed at this point but according to Florida State Attorney spokesman Ron Ishoy, they may reach a conclusion in the case against Irvin as early as next week.
