Lil Wayne Preps Jail Sentence; Does New Orleans Farewell Concert + Tour Dates

In a concert on Monday, Lil Wayne seemed to be ending 2009 on a good note before he prepares to head off to be sentenced for prison come February 9, 2010 in New York.

The rapper performed in his hometown of New Orleans and it was there were he let his fans know that he is nothing without them as they showed their appreciation to him through praise.

During his performance, Lil Wayne performed a number of songs which included old and new tracks such as A Milli, Got Money, Mr. Carter, Go DJ, Money On My Mind, Lollipop, Prom Queen, amongst others.

The rapper reportedly has a few dates to complete before he gets ready to receive his one-year prison sentence after he plead guilty to weapons possession for a charge in October. The charge stems from 2007 where authorities state they smelled marijuana during a traffic stop on his tour bus in New York and found a gun in a duffel bag, as reported on HipHopRX.com.

This isn’t the only charges for Lil Wayne, the rapper also is looking to face a trial in March which is for felony drug possession and weapons charges in Arizona.

On last week, Lil Wayne and his Young Money crew ran into a bit of trouble in Texas after U.S. Border Patrol agents allegedly found marijuana on his tour bus yet again. Reportedly, though charges were dropped.

Lil Wayne’s album “Rebirth,” is scheduled to release February 1, 2010.
