After news broke of the MTV reality TV personality, model, and artist Tila Tequila born Tila Nguyen being allegedly choked by San Diego Chargers’ Shawne Merriman who was arrested, more details have been released on the incident.
Previously reports stated that Shawne Merriman was arrested after allegedly choking and restraining Tila Tequila in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday at his home in San Diego County. The NFL linebacker was arrested after Tila Tequila signed a citizen arrest and was taken into custody on suspicion of battery and false imprisonment by authorities.
According to new reports, Merriman allegedly tried to get Tila Tequila to stay at his home because she was extremely intoxicated and he was concerned about her welfare.
“…I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided,” Merriman is quoted as saying in a statement.
Since the incident, Tila Tequila has taken to her Twitter account stating that she is allergic to alcohol and denies being drunk although it is being stated that there were witnesses at Merriman as well as at the club that they had left from.
Tila Tequila goes on to state that this is how she obtained her name, “… I cant drink.”
Could she have only been referring to Tequila?
