Jennifer Hudson and Barack Obama
By now the story heard worldwide of singer/actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother being murdered has taken a toll on many people including Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

On Friday, October 24, 2008 the bodies of Hudson’s mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, and Hudson’s brother, Jason Hudson, were found slain shortly before 3 p.m. in their South Side Chicago home located just 5 miles from the home of Barack Obama in Englewood.

“Michelle and I were absolutely heartbroken to learn about this unimaginable tragedy and we want Jennifer to know that she is in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” stated Obama on Saturday. “We also pray for the swift and safe return of her young nephew.”

An Amber’s alert and APB was put into effect for Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King who was abducted at the time of the murders and even the FBI had came into the investigation. Julian King’s body was discovered in the back seat of a white suburban days following the murder on the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue at 8:00 a.m., October 27th.

Police are currently holding William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s older sister Julia, who according to police, is now a prime suspect. It is also believed that other parties may have participated in the murders.

In August, Hudson sung the rendition of the national anthem at Mile High Stadium in Denver to kick off the final day of the Democratic National Convention at the acceptance of Barack Obama’s presidential nomination.
