The MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) is back upon us and Kanye West is back! The rapper/producer who is now infamous for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, as reported on www.HipHopRx.com, caused quite a stir when he took the microphone from the Country music star because he believed Beyonce deserved the award more than Taylor Swift.

All the stars made their way to the red carpet for the 2009 American Music Awards and with this year’s 37th annual show came many surprises at the Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater. Produced by Larrry Klein and executive-produced by Orly Adelso, the lineup of music’s top artists were from a variety of genres. The focus of this year’s awards was honoring those in Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational.

On last night, Kanye West took the microphone out of the hands of teen country star Taylor Swift hands after she was announced as the winner for the category of Best Female Video for her video “You Belong With Me” in which she was up against female artists such as Lady Gaga (“Poker Face”), Beyoncé (“Single Ladies [Put a Ring on It]“), Katy Perry (“Hot N Cold”), Kelly Clarkson (“My Life Would Suck Without You”), and Pink (“So What”).
