Apathy Announces 2012 Demigodz Album In The Works

A ’90s underground group makes a return with two core members and a third added from Get Busy Committee.

Apathy announced via Twitter yesterday that underground Hip Hop collective The Demigodz are at work on a 2012 release, Demigodz Is Back.

The tweet announced that Celph Titled and Ryu would be part of the project. Ryu is also in the Get Busy Committee, one of Apathy’s several other groups.

Drake’s “Take Care” Album Debuts At Number One Spot

Drake has done it once again; his sophomore album has hit number one on the charts.

After releasing his sophomore album Take Care last week, Drake has hit the number one spot just as expected.

Originally predicted to sell between 675,000 to 725,000 copies, Drake’s album sold 659,190 units in its first week.

Nicki Minaj’s new album will be available in early 2012, says Bryan “Birdman” Williams.

The Cash Money Records founder was excited to announce that the singer could be releasing the follow-up to her hit debut Pink Friday very soon.

He confirmed that Nicki is having a great time creating new music for the as yet untitled new record.

Multi-platinum performer, producer and songwriter will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas appeared on the American Music Awards on Sunday night with Jennifer Lopez for the premiere performance of his new solo single, ?.H.E (The Hardest Ever).”

Kendrick Lamar Talks About His Feature On ‘Take Care’

With the release of Drake’s highly anticipated Take Care, I spoke to three collaborator’s on the album, including Compton’s lyrical prodigy Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick explains the inspiration behind his verse on “Marvin’s Room/Buried Alive,” and recalls his first time meeting Drake, their Take Care features and shares details on how it all came together.
“Drake called me and said he had a beat that 40 did and wanted me on it, told me to do what I feel on the record. The first thing that came to mind was my first time meeting dude,” Kendrick told MTV RapFix.

Mac Miller Stays Indie And Proud Of It

Mac Miller made his way up to #1 on the Billboard Charts as the first independent artist in 16 years to accomplish such a feat with his debut Blue Slide Park on Wednesday.

This hasn’t been accomplished by an indie artist since the Dogg Pound did it in 1995.

Amy Winehouse Unreleased Songs Will Stay Under Lock And Key

News just broke out that Amy Winehouse’s fans will not have the chance to hear a dozen unreleased songs the singer recorded before her death.

Island Records UK have announced that they will definitely not release the twelve previously unheard tracks to the public.

Label head Ted Cockle and Island executive Darcus Beese are fans of these tracks and appreciate the artistic level of them.

Mac Miller Makes Takes Over Number 1 Spot And Makes Indie History

Mac Miller was able to reach the number one spot on the charts and make history!

Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Slide Park sold 148,915 units in its first week and claimed the #1 spot on the charts. Under independent label Rostrum Records, Mac Miller has made history by becoming the first indie act since Tha Dogg Pound to reach the number one spot on the charts in the first week.
