According to TMZ, an Elizabeth Arden spokesperson has informed them that the photo of Mariah Carey and her fragrance bottle photoshopped in the corner is not the actually fragrance advertisement. The real ad for M by Mariah Carey is expected to debut on the site during the second week of August.

An Arden spokesperson released this statement: “An image of Mariah Carey with her fragrance bottle photoshopped in the corner is being featured on several blogs today, and is categorically not the advertisement for her new fragrance, nor is it even remotely close.”

So who cooked this up?

Who would have every thought that someone would be interested in launching a clothing line based on American Idol? Well, Lyric Jeans has entered into a licensing agreement with FremantleMedia, co-producer and licensor for American Idol, to create an American Idol branded apparel line. The line is expected to be out in February of ’08 and will feature a collection of tops, jackets, jeans and other fashionables. The price range will be anywhere from $10 – $40 with hopes to brand non-gender styles.

Upcoming contestants are expected to be sporting the new threads for “American Idol Season 7″.

Clothing line Fetish which first debuted in 2003 by rapper Eve “Jihan Jeffers”, is about to relaunch. The Philadelphia rapper/actress previously folded the company due to problems with the partnering company which reportedly had problems with production materials, retail delivery and dislikes of the design direction.

Chicago rapper Common, will officially be the new face of Converse’s RED. The campaign “Weapon of Change” will launch sometime in the fall which is a partnership with the Product “RED”.

Common will be showing his handsome face in a number of print and outdoor advertisements across the country which were shot by Bryan Adams.

For those who don’t know anything about Zwinktopia, it’s a virtual world where you create characters, dress them up with the latest fashions, play games, interact with other Zwinkians and more.

Anways, 50 Cent will be opening his own boutique in the virtual world of Zwinktopia to get Zwinkians to wear his G-Unit clothing. The rapper is reportedly doing it so that he can push his new album “Curtis”. According to news reports, 50 Cent’s virtual shop will be one of several established to distribute not only digital “clothing”, but merchandise to over 6.5 million members of the Zwinky community. Currently industry execs have on their thinking caps to see how they can benefit and operate in Zwinktopia, like 50 Cent.
