The Houston-based rapper, Paul Wall has been elected President of the Recording Academy: Texas Chapter, the organization responsible for throwing the annual Grammy Awards.
Paul Wall has been Governor of the Texas Chapter for some time now alongside Houston execs and artists like Mathew Knowles, Joe Posada, Chuck Rainey and others and was just recently promoted to President by the organization.
Paul Wall told AllHipHop.com that he’s “been a Governor on the board of the Texas chapter for a long time” and that the process of someone getting nominated for a Grammy is done by voting and he wants to get the membership up in Texas.
Though Paul Wall has never won a Grammy, he has been nominated for one. His goal as President is to boost local membership.
“There’s so much credible music here in all genres… there could be more nominations for artists from Texas,” Paul Wall added.
