R&B singer/producer R. Kelly was awarded $3.4 million in damages in a judgment after tour promoter Leonard Rowe owner of Rowe Entertainment allegedly defaulted on obligations and failed to pay the R&B star millions of dollars in the “Double Up” tour proceeds on last year and earlier this year. According to Kelly, he decided to complete the tour not to upset fans, inturn performing free for many of the tour dates.

The R&B/Hip-Hop swagger singer R. Kelly is sporting a new hairdo, he’s dyed his hair a new color: goldish-blond or should we say blondish-gold?

After R. Kelly missed his court due to a eight hour hold up of his tour bus, the Honorable Judge Vincent Gaughan issued out a warrant. The singer/producer was given until Thursday 9am to come in for his pornography case, and yes he arrived over 20 minutes early. (more…)

According to sources, R. Kelly is accused of crossing the line with his publicist of 14 years.

In a statement Regina Daniels stated, “I have prided myself on loyalty, respect and professionalism. It saddens me that I was not always shown those same courtesies during my 14-year tenure as Mr. Kelly’s publicist … There are some lines that should never be crossed professionally or personally. Mr. Kelly crossed a line that forever altered the scope of our relationship. For this reason I made the decision to resign.”

At a time when R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet” episodes were announced to be picked up by IFC, the music producer and singer will be tried next month for allegedly engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl.

After five years, Chicago judge Vincent Gaughan told the jury that the grueling selection would begin on September 17.

In 2004 charges were dropped against the producer in Florida by prosecutors after a judge ruled that the photos taken from his home were taken illegally. Prosecutors state the girl who is now 22, may have been as young as 13 when the tape was recorded. (more…)

According to reports, R. Kelly, (Wacko Jacko) Michael Jackson and others are suing Jay-Z’s nightclub 40/40 in New York for breaking music licensing laws. More than a dozen people have already filed a federal lawsuit against 40/40 due to entertaining patrons with unauthorized public performance of musical compositions.

R. Kelly is giving everyone a double dose with his latest album “Double Up”, which is currently the #1 selling album in the country. R. Kelly’s “Double Up” which released on May 29, 2007, reportedly debuts this week as the #1 selling album on both Billboard’s Top 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop album charts. The #1 debut of Double Up marks the highest first-week sales of the year for any R&B solo artist according to his label Jive Records.
