Beyoncé Knowles will headline the stage at tonight’s second installment of the 2007 Essence Music held in New Orleans which started on July 5 and will end on July 7, 2007. Last night’s headliners included Ciara, Ludacris, and Ronald Isley along with guest speaker Barack Obama.

The Essence Music Festival is considered the nation’s largest annual African-American event celebrating Black music and culture. The 13th Annual 2007 Essence Music Festival Presented by Coca-Cola with the biggest names in entertainment and the nation’s most dynamic speakers, authors and leaders.

There seems to be a possible rumor floating around that while Beyonce was vacationing South of France along with her nephew Daniel, that she was holding the alleged secret son of Jay Z named Isa Jael age 5. It seems that the reports fail to show the photo of Beyonce with the woman who’s on the yacht with them. If you look at the pictures of the little boy, he seems to be a much younger than the photo of the boy that was on the cover of Hip Hop Weekly. Check them out.

According to Rihanna in an interview with People Magazine, Jay-Z tells other men interested in her that’s she’s off-limit. You know he has to watch his property investment. If it gets damaged, then it’s no good.

“I just found out from a mutual friend that guys will talk to Jay first before they try to approach me,” Rihanna tells People at a Venus Breeze event in New York City. He’s very protective,” she continued, “Jay has my best interests in mind. If it’s a good guy I know Jay won’t shut him down. But if he’s not, Jay will be like, ‘No, no, no.’ ” When asked who some of the potential dates have been she answered, “He actually never tells me. I have no clue who they are and I guess I’ll never know.”

Looks like Beyonce and Jay-Z are spending time together again in Monaco. In September the two was caught having a good time there while Jay-Z was filming a new video there. The singer is said to have been taking a break away from her tour.

Movie Dreamgirls tops the list of nominees for the 79th Annual Academy Awards which stars Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, and Danny Glover. Though the movie was nominated for 8 Oscar nominations, it failed to pick up either nominations for best motion picture, directing or writing. Reports state maybe the movie may have not been nominated because “Dreamgirls” wasn’t that much of a fabulous movie that deserved those prime nominations but did however have it’s highlights.

One of the reasons to why the movie got so many nominations is because of the influence the internet placed on the Academy voters and DreamWorks and Paramount’s decision to show about 10 minutes of footage at the Cannes Film Festival last May which helped push it even further creating a buzz.

When the movie did release oddly on Christmas and didn’t get the high numbers in the box office everyone was shocked.

Seems that ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, ‘The Queen’, ‘Babel’, ‘The Departed’, and ‘Letters From Iwo Jimo’ just captured those with another view.

Reports state that because of the way the Academy’s voting is structured, a film can be nominated if it gets votes from one-sixth of the membership plus one more vote. With around 6,000 active Academy members this equals to around 1,001 votes to land a nomination. Which many would have thought it would take around 3,000 to get nominated. Members bascially list the films in order of choice, with the first being the most important. So if a project got only 1,001 Academy members to vote then it would become a nominee.

Inaddition to Dreamgirls, The Pursuit of Happiness starring Will Smith was also nominated for several Academy Awards.

The 79th Academy Awards will air live February 25, 2007 on ABC at 5 PM (Pacific), 7 PM (Central) and 8 PM (Eastern).

According to sources 25 year-old R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles can’t wait for Christmas to come because she’s going to get down and dirty with all the festive food.

Beyoncé insisted Christmas food is to delicious to miss out on because of a diet when she blasted Hollywood’s trend for frail actresses.

Britain’s Daily Star states that Beyoncé said, “People are obsessed with skinny girls at the moment. I’m going to be eating for America over Christmas to get some more junk in my trunk. So raise a glass and toast for me, people.”

For her role in “Dreamgirls” the singer/actress lost 13 lbs in less than 10 days on a liquid-only diet consisting of organic maple syrup mixed with water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper.

“OK, I lost a lot of weight for ‘Dreamgirls’. But I sure am enjoying putting it all back on.”

During filming Beyoncé warned other women not to copy the extreme eating plan after being criticized by health experts.

“In ‘Dreamgirls’, my character starts at 16 and then 20 years pass. Normally they’d change your make-up or your clothes but I wanted to go the extra mile. My nutritionist suggested the only way to do that was the fast. As soon as it was over I gained the weight back. I would never recommend it to anyone unless you are doing a movie.”

Everyone is asking the question is singer/actress Beyonce Knowles 32. A website online claimed that they have a document from the Texas Department of Health proving that she was born September 4, 1974. However, according to AOL’s blog news site the document couldn’t be verified. A source also confirmed that document was not an official birth record and the year was not correct.

Inaddition, the High School that she attended in Houston was also called and it was stated that she was a student until 2000.

No one actually knows how the rumor began, but there have been several post across the web including some by people who state that they attended school with her, have yearbook photos and she says that she is much older that what is being stated.

There’s talk that Jay-Z is set to release a new single title “Lost One” where he talks about giving Beyonce free time due to her being more involved with her work than him.

Jay raps, “I don’t think it’s meant to be, B./ For she loves the work more than she does me./And, honestly, at 23./I would probably love my work more than I did she./So we ain’t we, it’s me and her./ That’s what she prefers.”

Jay-Z also adds in the rap, “So I have to give her free time even if it hurts…/Maybe we can be we again like we were.”
