On his 26th birthday, rapper Lil Wayne was presented a Louis Vuitton briefcase containing $1 million dollars by his mentor co-founder of Cash Money Records, Bryan ‘Baby’ Williams aka Birdman at a private party held in Miami at club Mansion on Tuesday, October 7th. The rapper reportedly was stunned after he opened up the case that was given to him which left him almost in tears.

Louisiana bred rapper Lil Wayne’s label announced on September 15th they have re-signed the rap star to a multi-album deal. The rapper currently has released six albums with the label in which he joined as teenager. Wayne’s latest album The Carter III made this year’s highest selling rap album (2.4 million) in a music industry were music sales are stated to be in a slump.

XXL 10th Anniversary Cover features Baby and Lil’ Wayne of Cash Money Records with the headline “Survival Of The Fittest”. The two showed off their bare chests filled with tattoos, completing the “Father Like Son” supervening.

New Orleans rapper B.G. along with The Chopper City Boyz are set to release their debut album, entitled “We Got This,” under B.G.’s label Chopper City Records. The Chopper City Boyz consist of Sniper, VL Mike, Hakim (aka Hakizzle, B.G.’s brother) and Gar.

The first single has already been released from the album “We Got This” entitled “Make Em’ Mad,” which was produced by none other than Mississippi rapper/producer David Banner, and has already been gaining a steady number of growing spins on various radio stations. The video for the single “Make ‘Em Mad” has already been shot and filmed in Atlanta, GA and was directed by The Terrero Brothers aka Jesse & Ulysses Terrero, who are known for directing videos for artists such as Young Jeezy, Nas, and many more.

B.G. was quoted as saying that since the breakup of his super group the “Hot Boys” there has been a lack of talented, real hip-hop groups from the South and that The Chopper City Boyz will change all that.

A spokesperson for BG’s Chopper City Records tells MemphisRap.com that there will be a promo tour for the album sometime in January and the album will be available Feburary 27. The album is coming out under Chopper City/KOCH Records and features The Chopper City Boyz, BG and an exclusive feature by the First Lady of Chopper City, Lady Dolla. A spokesperson for the label also tells MemphisRap.com that a remix of the single “Make ‘Em Mad” will be coming out soon and will feature T.I. and Juvenile along with B.G.

In other news, B.G. recently contacted Baby to send him condolences about Baby’s youngest sister of six, Tamara Williams, 26 who was killed in a fatal head-on collision in New Orleans on Dec. 11. Her 2006 Toyota Camry was struck by a motorist who was driving in the wrong direction. Jason Williams, 30, who is the other driver, is in the hospital in serious condition for driving the wrong direction on a downtown boulevard.

Baby’s sister Tamara Williams was married with three children and majored in psychology and was studying for a nursing degree.

The B.G. phone call to Baby came at a time when many thought B.G. and Baby would not get along anytime soon. “It’s a scar in my family… I’ma stand up for my family,” says Baby in the call from B.G. “I might not be on your side like I use to be.. I still can feel your pain, mayne I feel like I’m right there with you.. know what I’m sayin, I just want to say rest in peace to Tamara… keep your head up,” says B.G. in the ending of the phone conversation with Baby.

A photo has been circulating around of Lil Wayne and Baby kissing each other on the lips. The photo has had everyone talking and questioning whether the two are gay or if it was just a friendly kiss to the close knitted two.

Baby joined New Orleans radio station Q93 DJ Uptown Angela in an interview and told listeners that the picture only expressed parternal love, due to Lil Wayne being like his true son to help clear things up.

“Before I had a child, Wayne and all of them were my children, you heard me? Wayne to me is my son - my first-born son - and that’s what it do for me,” Baby told host Uptown Angela. “That’s my life, that’s my love and that’s my thing. That’s my lil’ son. I love him to death.”

It is stated that the picture surfaced through Gillie The Kid, a former Cash Money artist-turned-rival who admitted to releasing the picture and who also took credit for it’s release. Despite the release of the photo nothing has changed the way Baby works. Baby actually during the course of the interview refrained from calling out names and demeaning anyones character.

“Haters - that’s just life. I don’t even trip off that. I go to the bank in the morning. I can go buy whatever I feel like. So, I don’t even set trip off that,” Baby said. “Can’t nobody live my life, but me and I don’t try to live nobody else’s life.”
