With the release of Drake’s highly anticipated Take Care, I spoke to three collaborator’s on the album, including Compton’s lyrical prodigy Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick explains the inspiration behind his verse on “Marvin’s Room/Buried Alive,” and recalls his first time meeting Drake, their Take Care features and shares details on how it all came together.
“Drake called me and said he had a beat that 40 did and wanted me on it, told me to do what I feel on the record. The first thing that came to mind was my first time meeting dude,” Kendrick told MTV RapFix.

Mac Miller made his way up to #1 on the Billboard Charts as the first independent artist in 16 years to accomplish such a feat with his debut Blue Slide Park on Wednesday.

This hasn’t been accomplished by an indie artist since the Dogg Pound did it in 1995.

News just broke out that Amy Winehouse’s fans will not have the chance to hear a dozen unreleased songs the singer recorded before her death.

Island Records UK have announced that they will definitely not release the twelve previously unheard tracks to the public.

Label head Ted Cockle and Island executive Darcus Beese are fans of these tracks and appreciate the artistic level of them.

Mac Miller was able to reach the number one spot on the charts and make history!

Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Slide Park sold 148,915 units in its first week and claimed the #1 spot on the charts. Under independent label Rostrum Records, Mac Miller has made history by becoming the first indie act since Tha Dogg Pound to reach the number one spot on the charts in the first week.

Mobb Deep announced the release date for the inaugural album from their new record label, Infamous Records.

The group’s new EP Black Cocaine will be released in two different versions.

One version will be released as a five song limited edition EP, while a deluxe seven song version will be available exclusively for off-line retailers.

Mac Miller is expected to be the first rapper since Snoop Dogg affiliates Tha Dogg Pound to hit the top of the charts as an independent artist.

The rapper’s Blue Slide Park, which came out Tuesday, should top the charts when the numbers come in next week.

According to sales projections of 100k, Blue Slide Park’s numbers should top the charts and the album will join Snoop Dogg affiliates Tha Dogg Pound and their smash debut Dogg Food which was released in November of 1995.

Drake’s new album Take Care was leaked to the Internet on November 6.

“I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore,” Drake tweeted last night.

The album features singles “Headlines,” “Marvin’s Room” and the recently released “Make Me Proud” featuring  Young Money label mate Nicki Minaj, which is heavily anticipated across the net.

Lil Wayne attempts to reinvent himself again,this time through a new collaboration with Bollywood star Himesh Reshammiya.

“Yes, Lil Wayne and I are collaboration,” Himesh said.

“He has already recorded a remix track with Romanian musician Edward Maya.”

Himlesh is seeking to break into the music scene in the U.S. with “Come To Me Now,” a duet to be released next year.

While the unlikely pair are working on the song, Himesh assured fans that the track will be available via Himesh’s new album @ Da Edge and as a single in the U.S. for Lil Wayne fans.

As a musical director, actor, composer, and singer Himesh, has been featured in thousands of Bollywood titles, making him one of the most famous artists in India.

Lil Wayne never sleeps on any artist or opportunity perhaps that is why he is one of the most famous and influential rappers that is out there right now.
