50 Cent name change for new movie “Home of The Brave”

50 Cent - Home of The Brave
According to sources 50 Cent has opted to use his birth name that his mother gave him for for the new movie “Home of the Brave”. 50 Cent was stated that he felt it would scare people way is he used his rap name. 50 Cent will attach the name Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson on all the promotional posters for the new film because he believes it will give him more credibility.

“I think when people hear 50 Cent they directly associate it with the music and the aggressive content in the music. So I told them to use my real name and put 50 Cent in the middle.”

In the movie 50 Cent “Curtis Jackson” will play an American soldier that is returning home from the Iraq war. 50 Cent believe that fans may be a little disappointed when they realize that his character doesn’t have that same aggressive edge that they are so use to.

50 Cent will also be starring alongside Nicolas Cage in a new boxing drama ‘The Dance’, which will begin filming in 2007 and set for release in 2008.

Big Boi Shares Some Details on New Untitled Album and Movie ‘Who’s Your Caddy?’

Big Boi of Outkast
As an update, the latest has been released by Atlanta’s Antwan (Big Boi) Patton of Outkast on his latest projects.

Patton was quoted as saying “You’re going to get something from every genre, every funk, beat, loop, horn, and whistle. We got it all on the record,” the Atlanta artist stated while on the set of Fantasia’s “Hood Boy” video, according to Associated Press. Although untitled, the release can be expected to be in stores in 2007.

According to Patton, fans can expect the tracks to be similar to Speakerboxxx, which is Big Boi’s half of the Outkast 2003 double album.

As I wrote in an earlier article covering Big Boi’s performance in Detroit (Kool XL Launch Party on November 6), he is definitely putting his toes in the waters of the Big Screen. Patton, who has held roles in 2006′s “ATL” and “Idlewild”, has been on site for the shooting of “Who’s Your Caddy?”.

The comedy, starring Cedric the Entertainer, Faizon Love, Andy Milonakis and Finess Mitchell persuaded Patton to actually learn to play golf for the part, and not forgetting his education in playing polo. “Acting is great, man,” Big Boi stated to Associated Press. “I’ve been getting offers for years, but music has always been the first love. But now that I got time to step back from everything and take a breather, I can pick and choose roles and take them as they come.”

According to Patton, “It’s ["Who's Your Caddy"] about a music mogul who tries to play golf in this exclusive golf community. I go inside this country club and buy this huge house, and the 17th hole just happens to be on my property, so they got to let me in. There’s a lot of antics with them trying to get me [kicked] out and things like that.” Patton expresses how much he enjoyed the storyline. “It’s seriously funny,” he laughs.

It wasn’t stated when the movie would hit theaters, but you can be sure that we’ll be the first to know. Until then, keep your eyes and ears open for the latest!

Rap Sheet: Hip-Hop and the Cops

Rap Sheet DVD
This movie is a documentary on the secret dossiers that police, FBI, and task agencies have compiled on hip-hop performers and industry executives. The movie includes a number of industry executives and artists such as Suge Knight, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, Proof, Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Eminem, The Game, Sticky Fingaz and more. The artists talk about their experiences with authority and more.

“About three years ago, there were these rumors going around about some sort of covert unit out of the NYPD, and I had some friends in the hip-hop industry, so I started poking around to see what the story was,” said Sikorski, 27. Sikorski ended up with over 300 hours of footage for the film project. “Around that time, the FBI raided the offices of Murder Inc. and I started hearing about some other ‘hip-hop cops,’ which sounded like a good story to me. It had the aura of violence in hip-hop, the laundering of drug money, the NYPD, the FBI and a music that has captured American popular culture.”

The movie was directed by Don Sikorski and written by Kevin Goodman, Richard Rofe and Don Sikorski.
