50 Cent’ Blood On The Sand
Rapper/entrepreneur 50 Cent is prepping to release his new action packed video game ‘Blood On The Sand’ which will hit stores on Tuesday, February 24th in the US and on Friday, February 20th in Europe. The video game is a sequel to 50 Cent’s ‘50 Cent: Bulletproof’ released in November of 2005 and will be available for the Playstation 3 (PS3) and X-Box 360.

MTV To Pull Down TV Stations on Time Warner
At midnight tonight Viacom is expected to pull it’s most popular TV stations off air on Time Warner Cable Networks. As of today, December 31st, on the eve of a New Year, MTV.com issued out an alert to visitors to its website in the form of a pop-up window stating that Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks will be pulling MTV channels down over a dispute between the cable companies and MTV (Viacom Inc.).

Warner Music Group and YouTube
Warner Music Group, one of the first media companies to strike a deal with YouTube, is looking to make more money from online video with the video sharing giant. The label first struck a deal with YouTube back in late September of 2006. Meanwhile, in the present, the label has decided to pull it’s video catalog from YouTube until a new deal is worked out.

Joe Budden
Rapper Joe Budden talks with ThisIs50 about his next career moves, his take on the online hip hop game, and talks on how everybody trying to have an internet web blog and site and all that.

“Cutting edge, forward thinking.. I like it forward. I did that, I did that.. me and 50 thought of that at the same time. You know, when you flood the streets, at that time, that’s what was working,” Budden stated in response to a question about flooding the internet.

“It came a point when mixtapes just weren’t doing the same thing that they once did for artists,” added Budden.

T-Pain Holding Gold Chains

Although the singer/producer didn’t make the Auto-Tune software created by company Antares which starts around $300, he’s asking others to pay him for bringing the sound effect back to the limelight. In an interview with DJ Skee, T-Pain stated that artists such as Ron Browz have used the Auto-Tune effect poorly and also stated in a recent MTV News interview that those that have used it should pay up.

Eminem
Eminem and his music publisher has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Apple for the second time.

According to The Detroit News, the lawsuit was filed Monday in the US District Court in Detroit, and states that Apple is violating copyright by selling Eminem’s music through iTunes.

The lawsuit is stated to may prove to be a conflict with the Eminem’s label, Universal, rather than Apple.

Eminem’s music publisher and copyright manager, Eight Mile Style and Martin Affiliated, claim Apple isn’t permitted to sell music by the artist because Eminem has not agreed to grant his label, Universal, the rights to sell such music and never authorized Universal to allow the downloads. (more…)

imeem Music and Video Social Networking Site
If you’ve got the audience, a smart company will think of something to do with it when you don’t abide by their rules. And that’s what Warner Music Group Corp. did when they settled a copyright infringement lawsuit with music social networking site imeem by agreeing to license its music and video to them for a slice of their ad revenue.

Although they didn’t disclose how much they will get out of the deal, imeem has more than 16 million active users and counting. The agreement will allow imeem to carry music and video by all of Warner Music Group Corp artists like Madonna, Linkin Park and others.
