Jennifer Hudson was called as the surprise first witness yesterday in the murder trial of the man accused of killing her family.
William Balfour was in for the slaying of Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donaldson, brother Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew Julian King in the 2008 triple-homicide.
E! News recently reported that Jennifer was very emotional and almost had a hard time recounting the past when she warned her sister Julia Hudson against marrying William.
“I told her over and over again to not marry him,” Jennifer said.
“We did not like how he treated her.”
Jennifer then recounted the last time she saw her family during her surprise visit home.
“It was my mother, my brother, my sister and my dog. Thank God I had the opportunity,” she said as she became caught up with emotions.
Lead prosecutor James McKay told the court that William threatened Julia just a day before the murders.
‘If you ever leave me, I’m going to kill you, but I’m going to kill your family first,’ William allegedly said.
It is a very sad time for Jennifer Hudson as she has to go the pain and grief of losing her family once again. Our thought and prayers go out to her and we hope that she will soon find peace and comfort.
