Justin Bieber Still On The Hot Seat
Justin Bieber is not off the hook quite yet; he still faces a test to see if he is the father of Mariah Yeater’s baby.
There had been earlier reports that the 20-year-old California woman had dropped her paternity lawsuit against Bieber.
However, her lawyer has responded to reports saying that she does in fact still have legal counsel and they are now trying to deal with the matter in a more discreet way.
“I did not step down and there is a legal team,” Jeffrey Leving told WGNtv today.
“In light of death threats against my client, strategies have been reviewed. the San Diego team has been replaced by John Carlson from Los Angeles.”
“She believes Justin Bieber is the father,’ the lawyer said.
“Right now there’s no more interviews for Mariah Yeater, I’m not going to allow that.”
“Secondly, negotiations are going on right now with Bieber’s counsel and we’re trying to negotiate a private, secure DNA test with the same safe guards that would exist if there were a court order, but without a court order.”
“The case is completely out of control and I don’t want something terrible to happen to my client or her child.”
It is not clear if Mariah’s paternity case is still technically active in the court system but Jeffrey says that he hopes that things can be settled amicably.
Mariah claimed that she had a 30-second run in with Bieber in the bathroom of the Staples Center in Los Angeles on October last year leading her to become pregnant.
However, these are all allegations at this point. We will keep you posted on further information as this developes.
