Mac Miller Makes Takes Over Number 1 Spot And Makes Indie History

Mac Miller was able to reach the number one spot on the charts and make history!

Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Slide Park sold 148,915 units in its first week and claimed the #1 spot on the charts. Under independent label Rostrum Records, Mac Miller has made history by becoming the first indie act since Tha Dogg Pound to reach the number one spot on the charts in the first week.

Mac Miller, has over a million followers on Twitter and a million and a half ‘likes’ on Facebook, and is currently on his “Blue Slide Park Tour” that runs through the end of December.

Many fans bought more than one album so that they could help Mac miller climb to the number one spot, but more than anything to show that true fans will support artist and help him reach the number one spot.

Lil Wayne’s, Tha Carter IV (Cash Money/Universal Rep.) sold 24,606 copies, dropping seven spots on the chart to #22.

Drake’s sophomore album, Take Care, was officially released yesterday. With chart-topping singles “Headlines” and “Make Me Proud,” Drake will look to better his 2010 debut, Thank Me Later, which sold 447,000 copies in the first week and claimed the top spot on the charts. To date it has sold over 1,417,000 copies, and Drake is expected to better those numbers with Take Care (Cash Money/Universal).
