An announcement was made that funeral services for deceased rapper Chaos Kid took place October 9th in Detroit, Michigan.
Chaos Kid, born James Deel, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head on October 3rd, 2011.
Although the actual reason for his suicide is not known, Chaos Kid’s family told said that the rapper suffered from mental illness in his adult years.
“The family would like to express our sincere appreciation for the amazing outpour of love, support, prayers, and condolences that we have received during this extremely difficult time,” Chaos Kid’s family said.
“James Deel (aka Chaos Kid) was an extraordinary and gifted writer, performer, and individual. Throughout James’s adult years, he suffered from severe mental illnesses and the James we all knew and loved slowly began slipping away.”
Chaos Kid’s family mentioned that the rapper had been residing on the West coast for the past several years, and had only recently returned to his home state of Michigan.
Once he was in Michigan, Chaos Kid didn’t find the proper mental assistance he needed in order to treat his illness.
“James disappeared and tragically took his own life on September 28th, 2011 and his body was found by police on October 3rd, 2011,” the rapper’s family explained.
Visitation and memorial services for family and friends are Sunday, October 9th and Monday, October 10th, 2011.
“We will all forever miss James’s smile and pray that he can now rest in peace,”
