Boxer Floyd Mayweather Illegally Burns Money At Atlanta Nightclub; No Charges Filed

Professional boxer and sometimes rapper Floyd Mayweather also known by his nicknames “Pretty Boy” and “Money” didn’t show any shame when he illegally burned money at an Atlanta nightclub on Sunday.

The money man himself set fire to a $100 dollar bill as thirsty onlookers watched as he lit the bill up in the hand of an accomplice. Floyd Mayweather was partying it up at the Velvet Room according to TMZ, as well as rappers Lil Kim and Gucci Mane.

So how is burning money illegal? According to the United States code Title 18, Section 333; whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Well the good news is that Floyd Mayweather has been let off the hook and therefore won’t be charged for destroying one bill.

Hopefully it will not be a next time that he tries to pull off the same act. If Floyd Mayweather does burn money again, he could possibly be cited with burning multiple bills on different occasions.
