“Fire and Desire” Singer Teena Marie Found Dead at 54; More Details (Photos)
Soul singer Teena Marie, 54, who was ready to return back to singing after suffering from a grand mal seizure on last month, was found dead on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in her Los Angeles, California home, as reported on HipHopRx.com.
The R&B/Soul singer was found dead in her sleep by her 18 year-old daughter Alia Rose (Rose LeBeau).
The cause of Teena Marie’s death is unknown but is believed to be due to natural causes as the autopsy is pending, according to Teena Marie’s manager Mike Gardner.
Teena Marie nicknamed Lady T career began in the late 70′s and is known for her songs “Fire and Desire” and “I’m Just a Sucker for Your Love” both featuring Rick James, “Behind The Groove,” “Too Many Colors” featuring her god-daughter comedian/actress and singer Maya Rudolph (daughter of the late Minnie Riperton), “Lovergirl,” amongst other songs.
