New York rap legend and hip hop pioneer turned minister Kurtis Blow, real name Kurtis Walker Combs, 51, was arrested today (Thursday, December 2nd) in Los Angeles Airport for being in possession of marijuana.
Kurtis Blow was busted by the Los Angeles Airport’s new body scanners installed by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
Law enforcement sources say the TSA scanner detected “an anomaly,” the stash of weed, in Kurtis Blow’s pocket, TMZ reports.
Under standard operating procedure, Kurtis Blow was ticketed for the weed, since it was under an ounce.
It’s a coincidence that this incident happened as TSA is currently under scrutiny for its pat-down procedures. Caught on tape recently, two women even went as far as to ‘strip down’ to underwear and a bikini to avoid the procedure, as reported on www.HipHopRX.com.
Some people are claiming that the ‘pat downs’ go to far and the “groping” borderlines on being “inappropriate.”
