Spencer LeGrande, the last alleged victim to file a civil lawsuit in the Bishop Eddie Long sex scandal spoke on Wednesday afternoon and gave reason to why he filed against the pastor of the mega-church, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in suburban Atlanta.

Spencer LeGrande, from the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church based in Charlotte, N.C., like the other three plaintiffs, was a member of New Birth Missionary and was recruited for Bishop Eddie Long’s Longfellows Youth Academy in Lithonia, GA. According to Spencer LeGrande in his suit, he was 15 when he met Long, but the intimate relationship did not start until he was 17. LeGrande claims the two first had sex when Bishop Eddie Long took him on a trip to Nairobi, Kenya and afterward, he moved to Atlanta.

In an interview with Atlanta television’s WSB-TV, the same TV station that tracked down another accuser Jamal Parris on Tuesday, as reported on www.HipHopRx.com, Spencer LeGrande stated that after hearing that Bishop Eddie Long had been accused of something, his ‘heart dropped’ and this was at the time that God (he says) told him to release what he had to say.

Spencer LeGrande, 22, states he told his family, an ex-girlfriend, a few of his friends and a police officer about the sexual relationship with the Bishop when he moved back to Charlotte on late last year, but he didn’t decide to come forward until after he heard the others had accused Bishop Eddie Long of coercing them into having sex. LeGrande stated he wouldn’t comment on particular details of the lawsuit due to the advice of his attorney.

On Tuesday, Jamal Parris was the first alleged victim to speak publicly with Fox Atlanta on the accusations that he made against Bishop Eddie Long. Parris stated that Bishop Eddie Long manipulated him and the other plaintiffs from childhood in the interview.

As for Bishop Eddie Long, his legal team are reportedly not happy about how the plaintiffs’ counsel B.J. Bernstein and her clients are manipulating the media and trying to use the media for their civil lawsuit.

The four plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit are Jamal Parris, 23; Maurice Robinson, 20; Anthony Flagg, 21 and Spencer Legrande, 22.

As for Bishop Eddie Long, he’s calling the ordeal a ‘spiritual warfare.’

Is it too late for him to settle out of court??? I know he vows to fight this, but unless he’s 200% innocent, he’s going down, if this goes to trial. First, he has to be 100% innocent of the charges against him of using his authority to coerce sex; that’s simply sexual harassment. To win against that charge simply means he doesn’t have to pay money. HOWEVER, even for the court to come to that conclusion of finding him not guilty of the charges, the intimate details of his relationship with them has to come out. OOOOhhh brotha!!!! Once that happens, He and his “religious empire” (lol) is screwed; UNLESS he’s also 100% innocent of having had sex with them at all. You see the court only cares about the charges, but the rest of us have a BIG problem with hypocritical pastors, bishops, and prophets who boldly declare one thing while secretly doing something else. Especially when you march against another groups rights (same sex marriage) in the name of “righteousness before God”. AT least half of his members, or more, will walk out on him if they find out that he’s even had non-coerced, complete consensual sex with them. Because one thing is for sure, like it or not: Most conservative religious black people are against homosexuality, and are offended that gay people try to put themselves in the same civil rights boat as blacks. So they’re not going to support a “down low bishop!!!
If, however, he still wants to save his “empire and reputation”, and if God is willing to permit this (that’s a BIG IF) here is what the “buffed” bishop can do: Settle out of court. That way the details are not proven in court for the world to know. This way he can keep lying, oops, I meant to say “denying” that any thing happened. He can continue to be “David”, you see. But, you may be saying, if he settles out of court, even that sort of makes him look guilty, because if he’s 200% innocent why wouldn’t he fight in court? Hmmm, good point. Here’s what the rite reverend can do: He can preach one of those earth shaking sermons, after the settlement, coming from Matthew chapter 5:38 thru 42. Go read it. I’ve heard the bishop preach before. Maaannnn, by the time he’s done working that sermon with HIS crowd, there will not only be people slain in the “spirit’ (lol), but he may even get 50 more people to come to him, oops, I mean Christ (my bad) that Sunday.
Maybe, just maybe, If the Lord allows him to come out of this without a huge loss, perhaps he’ll be more mature, leave the young boys alone, love his wife, and continue to have a positive impact on the community and the world; I’m praying for you bishop.

Why does everybody keep saying I’ll pray for him??????? PRAY FOR WHAT?!?!?! Pray he wont get sued??? He deserves it. Pray he wont really be a down low butt lovin boy toy. So what if he is!!! You cant pray away human sexuality. There is no sin in being attracted to another consenting HUMAN BEING. (unless you do it in the underhanded manner that bishop daddy long stoke did) His ass is guilty of humiliating his wife by asking her hand in marriage knowing he couldn’t keep that promise because of his love for men, guilty of deceit, manipulation, greed and a lot more that has not surfaced yet; injustices perpetrated against his congregation by his hand. I despise religion because of people like him that have no faith, conscious or discipline what so ever in what they teach. If he was true to his BS religion he would have admitted in shame and asked for forgiveness in front of his deity and congregation. He denied the truth and that makes him look even less creditable as a religious figure because now he has lied to his deity and his brainwashed followers. He obviously has no respect for the people that blessed his con man ass business with their hard earned wages anytime he can stand before them and his deity and LIE. His kind rely on the lost and confused, easily duped with mere talks of spiritual salvation. Religion is a prison that insist you abandon your common sense and logic, sacrifice all sensible reasoning for faith……and that is clearly demonstrated by Daddy Long Stokes followers standing behind him in denial and pride?!?!?!?! This is both outrageous and enraging!!!! My black people wake up. There is no way those young boys are misleading the public or the courts, they risked humiliating themselves, risked outing themselves, exposing intimate details that would have other wise gone to the grave with them. No intelligent person would risk that in a blind religiously judgmental community like the baptist church behind false claims. I use to think religion was evil. Now i see it’s only men that are evil. Evil men that use religion to manipulate people. Religion is just some innocent word evil men use to describe a hollow organization backed by a false deity that has nothing genuine to offer it’s patrons. Religion is a business in disguise. Like all businesses; they are easily corrupted by undisciplined leaders or CEO’s. What’s sad is that the business of religion is legal with perks :(

  4. WTF?! says:

I COMPLETELY agree with you Charles! It is not looking too good for Mr. Long right about now. The Parris guy makes good sense, why would these men humiliate themselves in front of America??? Who wants the entire world to know they were sexually abused…and then by Eddie Long???…eeeehhhh, that’s just nasty! I’m sorry. LOL—Maybe this is not the time for jokes, but this is a very terrible situation. I think Mr. Long does not want to settle out of court because he wants to “look” innocent, I mean, there is a lot on the table for him right now—no one will see him the same. Nobody is perfect, but this is pretty bad. Even worse, I feel sorry for how many people trusted this man with their money contributions (tithes or whatever else)…innocent (yeah right) or not…so many lives are going to be affected negatively by this. I am praying for those boys, its such a sad thing. :(

And then, don’t get me started on the little half stepped sermon or explanation he did this past Sunday at his church. NOT ONCE did he say he didn’t do this. He said, “I’m not a perfect man.” I kept thinking “he did it!” And then that congregation of his…they were like wild animals! He couldn’t barely say his name without all of the shouting. I’m not saying fall for everything you hear, but come on New Birth…use some common sense. This man is manipulating you all.
The fact of the matter is…what’s right is right and wrong is just plain WRONG.

  5. stlangellove says:

Be serious ppl! Millions of dollars for a little bit of humiliation? Lots of ppl have humiliated themselves for even less money. Look at all these reality show stars doing whatever w whomever whenever for a couple of hundred or thousands or just to get their name out there. I wish I was a former member of that church. i would claim sexual coersion too. I just didnt know u could sue for such a thing. I think a lot more ppl should look back in their past and think of some ppl that coerced them so they can get some money too. If its not about money, what else is it about? I think these are some scorned gay men myself. By the way, how come a 17 year old can be charged as an adult cause he “knew right from wrong” but these men claim to be ignorant to it. They were bought back then, and want more from where that came from. Who’s to say they didnt use Long for his money? I dont think eddie long should pay them one red cent, and i hope he does fight this tooth and nail. I do believe he should step down as a pastor if these allegations are found to be true, but a pay out? No way no how!
