A former guard at Riker’s Island where Lil’ Wayne is currently serving a one year prison sentence was fired from her position at the facility for allegedly spying on the rapper.

Amelia Negron was fired from her job as a correctional officer at Riker’s Island where Lil’ Wayne is currently incarcerated, serving out a one year sentence for gun possession. Negron is being accused of spying on Lil’ Wayne by wandering into the unit where the rapper is being held without proper authorization.

Negron has admitted that she went into the unit, but denies ever going in there to see or spy on Lil’ Wayne, insisting that she went in there to speak to a fellow guard.

Negron is trying to consult with lawyers over plans of suing the prison.

The former guard told the New York Daily News that none of the claims against her are true.

Amelia Negron stated that she doesn’t like rap, but she likes rock and alternative music. Negron claims that she didn’t know much about Lil Wayne when they said she tried to see him and says none of the accusations are true.

Negron goes on to say that the door was unlocked in the area where Lil Wayne, born Dewayne Carter, was being held and when she went in to say hello, the officer stated she couldn’t be in there because they were holding a celebrity in that area.

Amelia Negron says after she was told this she said “okay” and it was “no problem” and turned around and left the area.

“I did nothing wrong, but I was threatened with criminal charges, transfers, suspensions,” she says.

The Correction Department says Negron’s dismissal was “entirely appropriate.”
