Miami Heat forward Dorell Wright was arrested early morning Thursday (March 11th) in Miami Beach, FL. for DUI and has now apologizing after returning to the Miami Heat from his, at the least, distractive arrest.
NBA star Dorell Wright was pulled over by Miami Beach Police At 3:37 am on March 11th after noticing that he was driving his 2005 Bentley erratically. When police approached Wright’s vehicle they noticed “red and watery eyes, odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, and low and slurred speech.”
Police found that Wright couldn’t provide proof of insurance and that’s when they noticed that he was driving on a suspended licence. He was then arrested for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended licence and taken to the jail for booking.
Wright returned to Heat practice on Monday and apologized for his arrest claiming “it was way out of character” for him.
“I am truly sorry,” Wright says in his statement adding “I want to sincerely apologize to the entire Heat organization, my teammates, and the fans.”
