Lil’ Wayne began serving his one year jail sentence for gun possession on last week after a few close calls that caused his sentencing to be delayed, he is probably thankful that the delays were on his behalf.
As reported on www.HipHopRX.com, Lil’ Wayne was originally scheduled to began his sentence on Feb. 9th but by the time he arrived in court, his attorney pleaded with the judge to postpone his sentencing so that Wayne could have surgery to reportedly replace his expensive grill for a less expensive set, which was later stated to be for root canals. The judge first set Wayne’s date to March 2nd, but a fire broke out in the basement of the courthouse setting his sentencing date off once again until March 8th.
Lil Wayne now currently sits at Rikers Island along with around 13,000 inmates serving his 1 year sentence for illegally possessing a firearm when his tour bus was stopped by police in July of 2007. He was convicted in October 2009. Sources tell www.HipHopRX.com that Weezy could be released within after 8 months depending on his behavior.
The rapper’s first meal, according to TMZ, was apparently some noodles with beef sausage and marinara sauce along with some steamed greens, a mixed green salad, whole wheat bread, sliced peaches with a fruit drink or tea to wash it all down.
