Pop/Alternative singer Lily Allen has been confirmed to open for rapper Jay-Z after he kept his promise to put her retirement hiatus to a stop. Lily Allen will be joining Jay-Z during the London’s Wireless U.K. Music Festival which is scheduled to take place this Summer.
Jay-Z showed interested in working with the singer after visiting the U.K. and allegedly becoming a fan and after Lily Allen stated that she would be stepping from the music scene in March to focus on fashion ventures after finishing up a tour with Dizzee Rascal. Jay-Z made it a goal to get her to perform one last time.
According to Lily Allen she’s glad and excited that Jay-Z thought of her and wanted her to support him.
Meanwhile, Lily Allen has told her Twitter followers that she’s slightly delaying her retirement and that her last gig will be supporting Jay-Z at Wireless in London.
The two are set to perform Sunday 4th July, 2010 in Hyde Park.
Other artists confirmed to perform during the Wireless Festival, which takes place from Friday 2nd July and Sunday 4th July 2010, include Pink, Mr. Hudson, The Ting Tings, amongst others.
