The remains of a Florida man who has been missing since April have been found close to a home where police were searching for his body. When first found, police investigators believed that the body may have been a man known as 43 year old Abraham Shakespeare, a truck driver’s assistant, who won a $31 million lottery jackpot in 2006.

Investigator’s in Plant City, Florida have just uncovered the remains of a man they now say is Abraham Shakespeare, a 43 year old truck driver’s assistant, won a $31 million lottery jackpot in 2006. The body was found near a home close to where investigator’s were already searching for his body. Police have indeed confirmed that it is in fact Shakespeare, as they turned the remains over to the medical examiner’s office for positive identification.

The remains were found close to a home owned by the boyfriend of Dorice Moore who Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is calling a “person of interest.” Though Moore is a person of interest, he has not been charged for any crime at this time. Sheriff Judd says Moore has transferred over $1 million from Shakespeare’s account.

In December, Moore told The Ledger newspaper that she in fact helped Shakespeare disappear, but now wants him to return because detectives were searching her home for evidence that she killed him since she is a person of interest in the case. She says that the $1 million was a gift from Shakespeare and that they were friends.

Abraham Shakespeare’s family and sheriff’s officials have said that after he bought a million dollar home in 2007, he ran in to Moore and she became his financial advisor. The home’s property records show that Moore’s company bought Shakespeare’s house in January 2009.

Besides the $1 million home, Shakespeare bought a Nissan Altima and a Rolex watch and problems soon followed. In 2007, one of Shakespeare’s co-worker’s tried to sue Shakespeare for stealing the winning ticket from him. A judge ruled that the ticket was Shakespeare’s six month’s later. Meanwhile other’s were trying to get in his pockets as well.

As of today (Friday, January 29, 2010) Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that the remains found a day earlier were indeed those of 43 year old lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare, and are currently still investigating the man who was quote missing since April 2009, but wasn’t reported as missing by family until November.
