Dr. Dre has been working on ‘Detox’ for about eight years now. ‘Detox’ is possibly the most anticipated album that Dre has ever released. He says that though the album is near perfection, he does not expect the album to hit the shelves before 2011.

Dre’s retail partner and chairman of Interscope Records, Jimmy Lovine, speaks also about the digital sound age, saying, “Three years ago we were talking about the deals that acts do. We said, we gotta do something about the sound.”

Lovine goes on to say that from “analogue to digital” is when the quote “digital revolution” went wrong — “terribly wrong” — so that’s when they said “screw sneakers” and decided to get into “headphones and speakers.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Dre says he has to go out to clubs now to try and understand what people are listening to. Dre was asked if he had created the perfect record for ‘Detox.’ His response was that he’ll know when it comes, he knows exactly what it is in his head and says it’s close, but not yet.
