Jimmy Alexandre, known as simply ‘Jimmy O’ was on his way to the studio to work on his mixtape when he was killed by falling debris during Haiti’s 7.0 earthquake. Jimmy O was identified on Friday (Jan. 15th) by a passport that was found on his body.

Jimmy O was a member of Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation and well known in Haiti for his music. Not only did he contribute to the community, Jimmy O was married and a loving father to his three children.

Wyclef was desperately trying to find Jimmy O when he got the news that he was killed by falling debris.

On CNN, Wyclef urged everyone, that was listening to him at the time, to verify how “great” of a ‘kid’ Jimmy O was (as Wyclef referred to him) and how much of a “terrible loss” it would be for them.

Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation has raised a total of $2 million since the 7.0 quake that rocked Haiti.
