The female MC/singer Lil Mama has had some words about Nicki Minaj and what she represents and doesn’t represent. The Brooklyn rapper hints that maybe she doesn’t feel like Nicki Minaj represents for young girls.
Lil Mama whose real name is Niatia Jessica Kirkland, 20, says that the first lady of Lil Wayne’s Young Money label, Nicki Minaj, whose real name is Onika Maraj, 25, “is a talented rapper.” She then goes on to say “What [Nicki Minaj] represents, I don’t represent,” which in Lil Mama’s words — she focuses on “bringing up young girls to respect their bodies” and to “respect theyself.”
“What [Nicki Minaj] represents, I don’t represent and she’s doing something different, that’s her lane,” stated Lil Mama in an interview with BET.
Known for her 2007 hit song “Lip Gloss” and for crashing the stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performance of “Empire State of Mind” at the MTV Video Music Awards, as reported on www.HipHopRX.com, Lil Mama is apparently working on a new album that may possibly back up her words.
