Actress, Singer Brittany Murphy, of Eminem’s 8 Mile and Clueless, Dies at 32

Actress and singer Brittany Murphy, 32, most known for her roles in ‘Clueless,’ ‘Girl Interrupted,’ ‘8 Mile’ (Eminem hip-hop drama biographical film), ‘Uptown Girls,’ ‘Deadline’ and the voice of Luanne Platter on ‘King of the Hill’ died on Sunday, December 20 in Los Angeles.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ reports the starlet was very ill hours before she went into cardiac arrest. Brittany Murphy collapsed in the bathroom and police sources told them she somehow ended up in the shower where a significant amount of vomit was in the immediate area.

Since then an investigation has been opened due to numerous prescription drugs in the name of her husband Simon Monjack and mother being found at the scene of her death.

An autopsy is expected to be performed Monday or Tuesday by the coroner after Monjack reportedly did not want an autopsy.

Brittany Murphy suffered from type 2 diabetes, however it is not believed it played a role in her death.

In other news, her latest movie “Across the Hall” opened in theaters on December 4. Other movies also filmed before Brittany Murphy’s death include Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables” which is due out in August 20, 2010 and “Abandoned” which currently has no release date.

According to sources, there were more movie roles in the works which are now up in the air, meaning that they will be more than likely made available for another actress due to her unexpected death.

I will always remember her first as Tai from Clueless. This is so sad. Is it just me or has 2009 been a hell of a year..

loved brittany, she was a beautiful and talented actress. a master at playing those silly roles. she will be
missed!!! hope her hubby had nothing to do with her death. not wanting an autopsy done is making him look
very suspicious!
