Baby & Slim Williams
Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Baby” Williams, CEOs of Cash Money Records, speak out about Lil Wayne’s guilty plea to felony gun possession, as reported on www.Hiphoprx.com.

On Friday (Oct. 23), Baby and Slim released this joint statement regarding Wayne’s guilty plea:

“The Cash Money family will continue to support our artist and friend Lil Wayne in his current court case,” the Williams brothers said. “We have worked with Wayne since he was a teenager, and have seen him grow into one of the world’s most successful hip-hop artists, with a work ethic that is second to none. Wayne has our love and commitment during this difficult time. We always have and always will stand behind him.”

In July 2007, police pulled Wayne’s tour bus over at 11:30 on the night he was to perform at New York’s Beacon Theater. Police searched the bus and found that Wayne had a semi-automatic weapon and arrested the rapper for criminal possession of a weapon.

Wayne is due for sentencing in Feb. 2010. He is expected to serve about 10 months on a one year sentence but that could change.
