As it was predicted earlier on last week that Eminem would sell over 600,000 for his latest album ‘Relapse,’ the rapper met the estimate by more than 8,000.

Nielsen SoundScan reports, hip hop artist Eminem sold 608,000 copies his first week for his album “Relapse,” which was released on May 19th, 2009. “Relapse” is Eminem’s sixth studio album released after a four year hiatus following behind his last album ,”Encore” which released in 2004 and sold 711,000 in four days.

“Relapse” took the number one spot on the Billboard 200 music chart and has been currently proclaimed as the biggest opening for any album for 2009 even though the year is not even mid-way.

Since Eminem first burst onto the music entertainment scene, all but one his albums (Slim Shady LP) has managed to take the No.1 spot on the Billboard chart.

The album “Relapse” includes the controversial songs “We Made You,” “Bagpipes from Baghdad” and “3 a.m.” which have been criticized as well as praised online.
