Promoter Charged In The Murder Of Konvict Muzik Rapper, Dolla

A murder suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting of Konvict Muzik artist, Dolla, born Roderick Anthony Burton II, 21, who was murdered on Monday, May 18, 2009 while at the Beverly Center mall near Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, CA.

A 23 year-old events promoter named Aubrey Louis Berry from Dolla’s hometown in Atlanta, GA has been accused of shooting the aspiring rapper several times.

Police are reported to have arrested Aubrey Louis Berry as he attempted to board a flight at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) several hours after gunning down Dolla after an argument in a valet parking area at Beverly Center shopping mall. According to several reports, the escalation of the argument is believed to have been brought on after a previous argument happened at a strip club on last week in which the two were allegedly seen using gang-affiliated signs and making threats towards each other.

Meanwhile, Aubrey Louis Berry currently faces a single felony count of murder and two counts of assault with a firearm for the death of Dolla as well as for allegedly shooting at two other people during that time.

Bail for Aubrey Louis Berry has been set from $1.1 million dollars to $5 million and he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Berry’s scheduled arraignment which would have taken place on today, was re-scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2009.
