Jamie Foxx’s ‘Blame It’ Makes History, Surpasses TLC’s 1999 Hit Song ‘No Scrubs’

R&B artist Jamie Foxx on J Records recently made history with his music single ‘Blame It!’ featuring T-Pain. The single “Blame It” has been holding the No. 1 spot on the Urban Mainstream chart for the last 12 weeks beating out hip hop music group TLC’s single “No Scrubs” which was on the charts for 11 weeks in 1999.

In addition to the single “Blame It” being No. 1 on the Urban Mainstream chart, the single is also No. 1 on the Hot 100 Audience for it’s fourth consecutive week reaching 119.6 million.

The single is doing so well, that it’s sitting high on other charts which include the Rhythmic chart (No. 3 previously No. 1 for five weeks) and the Top 40 chart (No. 5). “Blame It” is also currently No. 3 (previously No. 2) on the Nielsen’s Ringscan chart after reaching the million threshold.

In related news, Jamie Foxx’s third solo album “Intuition” which features the single “Blame It” was RIAA-certified Platinum meaning the album has sold more than 1,000,000 units. “Intuition” is also coming in at No. 6 on the R&B Albums chart.

Meanwhile, as Jamie Foxx celebrates the success of his single and album, the R&B singer and actor will be the host of the upcoming BET Awards come June 28th at 8PM/7CST at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium where he will also perform.

Furthermore, Foxx is nominated in the 2009 BET Awards for Best Male R&B Artist, Best Collaboration for the single “Blame It” featuring T-Pain as well as the music video for the single is up for Video of the Year.

    i knew this fucking song was gonna be big. i kept thinking he gon get a grammy for this shit. everybody loves it. but i think the credit should go to whoever remix this shit as well as wrote it cause it was very well done for a club banger. i figured this had to be the best club song since one more chance. it has that same feel to me. but i refused to pay $1.29 for the download.
