Did 50 Cent Wreck Rick Ross’ Autograph Signing?! Fans A No-Show!

Though rapper Rick Ross, who has been beefing with 50 Cent for the past several months, came out on top of the charts with his first week album sales, managing to push 158,000 copies for “Deeper Than Rap,” which released on April 21st, the rapper might have made it to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but at an autograph signing at a Best Buy in NY, things didn’t seem to go so well. Fans were a reported no-show at the supposed Rick Ross autograph signing promoted on Hot 97 in NY and advertised on a supposed flyer as “Meet Rick Ross April 23rd @ 7PM Best Buy New York, NY… Purchase “Deeper Than Rap” beginning Tues 4/21 and receive a wristband to secure your space in line for the special RICK ROSS in-store signing.” Needless to say, according to reports, no one showed. Was this the work of Rick Ross’ hip hop rival 50 Cent?

Writer Yancey Strickler, based out of NY, reported the following news, along with a timeline of photos and details of the unfortunate Rick Ross promotion gone terribly bad:

Rick Ross is scheduled to do an autograph signing at the Midtown Best Buy tonight at 7pm. These happen every week, with lines of varying length. But today’s… today’s was special. Here’s the timeline:

9AM:

1PM:

2PM: This report came in from the street:

There is a guy outside the Best Buy cajoling/begging people to go to the signing. No joke.

2:15PM: A flyer is handed out:

“2 CDs Max Per Person.” FUCK!

3PM:

4PM: ACTIVITY!!!

What’s that in the distance? Is that someone in line?!?!?

Rick Ross will always love you, Rick Ross.

4:30PM:

UPDATE!!! 5PM:

We sent our man Jayson down for recon (and to pose with the empty barricades). He asked a street teamer where the line was, and he responded, “Oh, I think people are just circling the block because there’s so much to see around here.” OF COURSE!
