Rapper DMX’s publicist has released a statement denying reports that the rapper/actor is checking into ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,’ which is the VH1 reality television show were celebrities are treated by the famed Dr. Drew and his staff for related alcohol and drug addictions.

As previoulsy reported, news, which first appeared on RadarOnline and then on sites such as Perez Hilton, broke that DMX would be appearing on the show via confirmation from Bob Forrest, one of Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab resident drug counselors. Though, following the alleged confirmation from Forrest, according to Pam Pinnock, publicist for rapper DMX, the report is untrue.

Pinnock released the following statement to www.HipHopRX.com on the morning of Monday, April 27th:

Several media outlets have reported that my client Earl Simmons, aka DMX has signed on to appear in VH1′s Celebrity Rehab Reality Show. These reports are false and Mr. Simmons has not greed to appear in any reality show. Mr. Simmon’s is currently serving a 90 day jail sentence at Tent City Jail in Arizona. He has expressed great appreciation to the overwhelming amount of support he has received from his fans during this difficult time. He would like his fans to know that he is taking this time to focus on his personal as well as spiritual growth, and is looking forward to being released soon.

Multi-platinum artist DMX first burst onto the scene in the late 1990′s as a rapper on album “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot.” The same year during the rapper’s album debut, 1998, the rapper became a popular actor, starring in the film “Belly” followed by later roles in films “Exit Wounds,” “Cradle 2 The Grave,” “Romeo Must Die” and “Last Hour,” and then his own reality television series “Soul of a Man” on the American cable station television network BET.

Maybe we can look to the words of the rapper/actor regarding the Celebrity Rehab mixed reports, “Don’t believe everything you read, don’t believe everything you hear, and only believe half of what you see, God bless you,” stated the rapper in a recent interview from jail with John Hooks of MyFox Phoenix.
